Conferences, Symposia etc organized:
The department has been on forefront in organizing state, national and international level conferences where in Dr. B. K. More was the Organizing Secretary, as under.
1) National Level: Two
i) XXII Annual Convention of Indian Association of Veterinary Pathologists and National Symposium on "Newer concepts in Animal and Avian disease diagnosis- A Farmer,
Industry and Institutional dialogue" organized during Nov., 25-27, 2005 at Hotel Aurora Towers, Pune-1. Dr. B. K. More was the Organizing Secretary, and Dr. A. P. Somkunvar,
was the Treasurer. The conference was organized in association with Indian Association of Veterinary Pathology.
ii) I Annual Convention of Maharashtra Chapter of Indian Association of Veterinary Pathologists and National Symposium on "Advances in Avian Diseases and Toxico-Pathology"
on April, 19, 2010. Dr. B. K. More was the organizing Secretary and Dr. V. S. Dhaygude was the Treasurer.
2) International level: One
An International Symposium on "Principles of Histological basis of Gross Pathology" organized in Association with CL Davis DVM Foundation, USA and The Indian Association of Veterinary Pathologists, organized during Nov., 26, 2005. Dr. B. K. More was the Organizing Secretary.
3) Summer Institutes organized: Three
The department has organized 3 summer institutes where in Dr. B. K More was the organizing Secretary.
i. Applications of Advanced Technologies in Veterinary Science and Agriculture ( 9 Feb. 1998 to 9 Mar. 1998)
ii. Challenges and Opportunities in Livestock and Avian Production in 21st Century ( 4 Jan. 1999 to 1 Feb. 1999).
iii. Recent Approaches in Management of Various Diseases in Domestic and Wild Animals (6 Sept. 1999 to 5 Oct. 1999).
4) The department has also organized Board of Studies Meeting for thrice, since the formation of MAFSU.
5) Trainings organized :
Dept. of Pathology has organized the One Day Orientation Programme on Open and Distance Learning (ODL) courses of MAFSU in collaboration with Commonwealth of Learning, Canada in year 2010-2011. A total of 60 veterinarians from Dept of Animal Husbandry, Govt. of Maharashtra participated in the said program. Dr. C.S. Mote, Nodal Officer for ODL project conducted the training in collaboration with Dept of Surgery.
ICAR sponsored Model Training Course of 8 days duration was organized by Dept of Pathology in October 2011 on 'Recent Advances in Diagnosis of Animal and Avian Diseases'. A total of 25 veterinarians from different states participated in this Training Course. Dr. V.S. Dhaygude acted as Course Co-ordinator for this program.
Dept. of Pathology organized and participated in three batches of 5 days training under ASCAD on 'Hands on Training Program on MODERN DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTS IN VETERINARY PRACTICE' in March 2011. A total of 80 veterinarians sponsored by State Govt. were given comprehensive Hands on Training on Use of Hematology Cell Counter and Biochemical Autoanalyser at Dept of Pathology. Dr. B K. More, Dr. C.S. Mote and Dr. D.K. Bedre instructed the trainees.
Apart from this, the faculty of Dept of Pathology is invited for expert lectures organized by Yashada and DIS, Govt of Maharashtra Pune, and All India Radio, Pune.
